Client Problem:
Team Cohesion, Motivation and Public Speaking.
Nicole had a highly talented team that she wished to motivate further. She aimed to address cross-cultural issues in communication and encourage confidence and vocal power in public speaking throughout the team.
Our Analysis:
Upon assessment, we identified several key areas contributing to the team’s communication challenges:
- Cross-cultural Communication: The team’s varying nationalities and social backgrounds created some disparity in communication.
- Lack of Confidence Speaking in Public Arenas: Some team members were reticent to speak out and put ideas forward.
- Poor Vocal Health: Some vocal health problems were present in the team.
Our Solution:
- Physical Alignment: Education on body support mechanisms and body language. Implementing a program to support body alignment and breathing for self-regulation to combat anxiety and tension.
- Vocal Technique: Exercises in pitch, intonation, volume, tone, and vocal intensity to support clearer dialogue and understanding.
- Body-Voice Alignment: Improved connection between body and voice delivery.
- Presence and Presentation: Building a greater presence, confidence, and sense of authority through voice and body language in-person; using emotional recall for more creative narrative arc and storytelling.
- Platform of Conversation and Storytelling: Collating all V Vibration techniques.
The Results:
- Improved Body Alignment: Leading to muscular core strength which supports the breathing mechanism, allowing for better breath control, vocal health, and projection.
- Improved Vocal Technique: Enhanced breath control, vocal stamina, and projection, with techniques to soften accent-related vowels.
- Breathing for Self-Regulation: Techniques like 4/2/6 breathing for nervous, tense, or heightened situations.
- Improved Vocal Health: Speaking with greater vocal variety; pitch, tone, rhythm, and vocal athletics.
- Body Language: Better understanding and application of body postural awareness to hone appropriate body language and non-verbal communication to the different cultures around them.
- Greater understanding of cultural differences: reducing the fear of offence in verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Team Bonding: An even greater cohesion in team spirit.
- Improved Public Speaking: More confidence in presenting, utilising improved body language, vocal techniques, and storytelling.
In Conclusion:
We were delighted to work with the Accenture Team and see the great improvement and understanding in their cross-cultural communication and the huge development of their presentation confidence and skills.
We are proud to have supported the Accenture Team in their journey to better communication and look forward to their continued success.
